• David Biek designed this project while at Urban Design Group (now 4240). His pioneering design idea of thinking outside the box by varying the theater sizes has become a standard for multiplexes worldwide.

  • The front of each theater box is detailed like a false facade, relating this building to filmmaking and to old Colorado towns.

  • The tall vertical entrance dramatizes the lobby space inside and allows a grid of video monitors to be visible from the approach.

  • Trading one row from otherwise equal sized theaters, David created an interesting stepping form, avoiding the boxiness theaters used to have and allowing emergency exits that aren't on the screen walls.
