Parallel House
This house sits on a steep, rugged, and heavily forested site, which is dramatized by the simple form of the house. Its tall windows take in maximum light and view. The entertainment wing and the bedroom wing sit parallel to each other to take up the least amount of width on the steep slope.
The butterfly roof and high windows open the house to uphill views on both sides. Simple floor and roof plans create a single, unified space within which individual areas are articulated.
The deck wraps the entertainment wing and provides for a comfortable indoor-outdoor flow of space with slide/fold doors. The interior lights provide plenty of illumination at night.
